I have designed Alex's social media to be quite 'down to earth' as this resembles the type of pages an up and coming artist. As our artist would not have a massive following, his posts would consist of mostly personal updates with only occasional promotional ones.

Before choosing which editing software we will use for our final production, we thought it would be a good idea to try using a few options. This was our attempt on Premiere Pro. It look us quite some time to get used to the layout of the software. However, as we are familiar with Final Cut Pro we were able to transfer our skills from onto this software. Overall, our practice product is not the best. With obvious green screening to shadows creating a glaring effect, there would be a lot of improvement and practice needed if we were to use this software. It also took us a very long time to finish which would be very impractical when it comes to editing our final piece. On the other hand, this software allowed for us to have access to a much wider range of effects and transitions than softwares we have previously used did.

Wake Up Scenes in Houses Westfield 

Our first day of filming since our restart was in Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford. We chose this location as we knew it would not be too busy at our time of filming but has a large variety of shots which enabled us to film an array of shots. Boost We filmed some shots of Mia buying a Boost shake because we thought it would contrast nicely with the indie girls choice of food and drinks (pizza and coffee). We had Mia point to the weight loss shake as it links to the idea that she is trying to live up to "paper dreams". These shots were successful and we are planning on using them in our final piece. Misguided Misguided is a large clothing store which sells a range of clothing items. We continued the theme of "paper dreams" by having her hold an assortment of clothing items up to her. Todd Fletcher Todd was confident in his audition and lip sinced the words accurately. However, this is not the type of character we are hoping for our artist to portray. I also believe that at times, his actions seemed quite forced which contrasts with a typical indie artist. Mason Marrable Mason was very animated in his performance. Indie artists are usually more collected because their interests are in the music element rather than the performance: if our song was pop or grime then Mason would have been a strong candidate. In addition, we had bad experienced with Mason as an actor last year where he let us down on the day of filming. Michael Brennan Michael looked the part of our potential artist and his movements fit indie conventions well. However, his lip sincing was very poor and often out of time. Therefore, I dont think he is the strongest candidate for our artist. Jordan Diver Jordan best fits the description we had for our artist naturally. The cloth...

This focus group explored our target audiences preferences regarding auditions and narratives and some conventions. They all agreed on Jordan Diver being the best audition due to his "indie style". It was then decided that the narrative they would be expecting to see would be a romance and that our current narrative idea was a success. Finally, Kirsty gave us the name of a video which she believes will help to inspire us when producing our video so I will analyse this video shortly.

We asked males whom we believed to fit the describtions of our artist to lip sync songs by The Kooks. For a successful audition, we are looking for a male who does not come across as too confident or animated  as the personality we have imagined our artist to have is more down to earth and relatable as this is a common indie artist trait.  In addition, we need the lip-syncing to be accurate so that it appears as if they are singing it live.

The weather was very good for our filming day. It was not too hot but did not rain at all. A lot of our shots where taken inside which reduced the effect of the weather anyway but the ones we did outside in Camden were successful. Overall the weather was very good for filming because it will be easy to find similar days if we need more shots and the weather didn't interfere with our filming in any way.

INDIE DREAM AND A PINCH OF POP LORD OF INDIE FOR THE INDIE WOMAN INDIE BLUE THE INDIE SISTERS CMC MUSIC THE LOVE OF INDIE ALEX AND THE ANGRY All of our name ideas have close links and connotations to the indie genre which is important to us because we feel that it is essential that our institution name can act as a form of marketing and therefore tells the target audience the basic idea of our products. We will do some target audience questionnaires and interviews over the next few days in order to find the most successful name for our music institution.
